Galeri Comparative Anatomy and Paleontology, salah satu daripada komponen National Museum of Natural History, memiliki salah satu koleksi yang paling indah dan menyeluruh tulang-tulang di dunia. Dirasmikan pada tahun 1898, galeri ini diwujudkan bagi memelihara dan untuk mengumpul koleksi besar yang penting untuk masa hadapan. Gambar Bersejarah era Imperial Rusia 1910-an dalam bentuk warna

Memandangkan betapa banyaknya gambar bersejarah dalam hitam dan putih, ramai di antara kita lupa bahawa masa dulu ada juga gambar berwarna yang kita tidak dapat melihatnya. Gambar-gambar di Rusia pada awal abad ke-20 yang diambil oleh jurugambar Sergey Prokudin - Gorsky memberikan kita gambaran pada masa lalu dalam bentuk berwarna.

Gambar warna, biasa kita fahami tidak mungkin pada masa itu, tetapi dengan cara mengambil tiga keping gambar berasingan objek yang sama dengan cara meletak penapis merah atas kanta, penapis hijau dan penapis biru (merah, hijau, biru (RGB) - adalah satu set gabungan warna yang digunakan oleh banyak imej digital juga).

Prokudin - Gorsky mula mewujudkan triwarna gambar selepas belajar dengan ahli Photochemistry Jerman iaitu Profesor Adolf Miethe. Beliau telah melarikan diri dari Rusia selepas Revolusi Oktober dan negatif beliau akhirnya dibeli oleh Perpustakaan Kongres Amerika Syarikat pada tahun 1948 dan diterbitkan pada tahun 1980.

Mesej Viking berusia 900 Tahun - "Kiss Me "

Sesetengah orang mengatakan bahawa hari Valentine ialah " Hallmark Holiday" (iaitu percutian diwujudkan khusus untuk menjual poskad ), dan mereka mungkin atau mungkin tidak betul, tetapi 900 tahun dahulu, manusia telah mempunyai cara untuk menghantar mesej romantis antara satu sama lain.
